The Ministry of Defense has begun purchasing "floating" bulletproof vests
The "State Rear Operator" of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is purchasing body armor for the first time, which allows military personnel to stay afloat with equipment and weapons. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence.
These body armors have a basic modular configuration that includes a special module – a positive buoyancy element, designed for use during water missions. It was developed and approved by the Central Directorate for the Development of Material Support.
The module allows, in case of contact with water, to transform the body armor into a rescue vehicle that can keep a serviceman afloat in full equipment, personal protective equipment, weapons and full ammunition. Its use reduces risks when performing tasks on water – at sea or when crossing water obstacles.
It is noted that body armor with such an element is used by Naval Forces and special operations units that perform tasks in coastal areas and on the water.
It was previously reported that the Ministry of Defence is preparing standards for quality control of defense procurement in accordance with NATO requirements. They will establish uniform qualification requirements for the professional competence of employees responsible for defense procurement, which will make it possible to assess the qualifications of employees responsible for such procurement.
