During October 2025, the Russian occupiers increased the number of strikes with guided aerial bombs on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
It is noted that Russia dropped more than 5,328 guided bombs on Ukrainian positions and frontline cities and villages last month. According to the Ministry of Defence, this is the largest number of bombs dropped in a month since the beginning of this year.
According to the agency, in 10 months of 2025, the enemy dropped about 40 thousand guided bombs on Ukraine. The same number was used by the occupiers in the entire year of 2024. Thus, the enemy's aerial terror is becoming more intense.
According to open sources, guided aerial bombs are equipped with aerodynamic surfaces and a guidance system to increase the accuracy of hitting the target. Such bombs are quite difficult to shoot down due to their high speed and lack of a jet engine, the heat of which can be used by an interceptor missile.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Federation is establishing mass production of aerial bombs with a range of up to 200 km. To this end, Russian engineers have improved the so-called universal planning and correction modules (UMPK), which are installed on conventional aerial bombs weighing 250, 500, 1500 and 3000 kg. This has made it possible to increase the range of destruction.
