A new training course "Drones on fiber optics. Basics of use" has been launched in the Army+ application. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reports this. The program focuses on the features of FPV drones controlled via a fiber optic channel and their use in combat conditions.

Such drones are resistant to electronic warfare, but require operators to have special training, precise flight planning, and knowledge of technical nuances.

The course lecturer was Vitaly "Soloma", an engineer of the SIGNUM unmanned systems battalion of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh.

The program includes seven consecutive lessons, including:

  • key advantages and limitations of fiber optic drones;
  • preparation of equipment and optical fibers;
  • pre-flight control and mission preparation;
  • typical malfunctions and methods for their elimination;
  • cable flight techniques;
  • task planning and tactics for hitting targets;
  • final procedures after the mission is completed.

The learning process includes intermediate tests, and passing the final exam culminates in the issuance of an electronic certificate.

Previously, "Army+" also featured a basic training course on the DELTA combat system. It provides initial knowledge of working in a combat ecosystem that helps the Defense Forces have a complete picture of the battlefield, plan operations, and coordinate the work of units.
